How Our Reviews Work

Our customers’ trust is important. Therefore, in accordance with Article 7(6) and Article 8-D of Decree-Law No. 57/2008 (which transposed the Omnibus Directive via Decree-Law No. 109-G/2021), we explain below, in a transparent way, how we collect, verify and publish customer reviews on this website.
1. Who can leave a review?
Only customers who have actually purchased a product from Singular Leather can submit a review. We do not accept reviews from people who do not have a confirmed purchase history in our system.
2. How are reviews collected?
We use the Judge.me platform, an independent service specialized in reviews for e‑commerce. The process is as follows:
- After the order is delivered, Judge.me automatically sends a review request to the customer by email, containing a unique, personal link.
- This link is associated with the customer’s actual order — only someone who has received the product can access it and submit a review.
- The customer assigns a rating from 1 to 5 stars and may write a free-form comment and/or attach photos.
- The review is automatically published on the website.
Reviews marked as “Verified” / “Verificada” are those for which Judge.me has confirmed that there is a real order associated with the author’s email address.
3. Negative Reviews
We do not delete legitimate negative reviews. Critical reviews, as long as they respect basic rules of civility and do not contain unlawful content, are published exactly as received, alongside positive ones. We believe constructive criticism helps us improve and gives consumers a realistic view of the product.
When we believe a review results from a situation we can resolve (e.g. defect, delay, delivery issue), we contact the customer to find a solution and, if they wish, update their review. But we never demand that a review be changed in exchange for compensation.
4. Reviews that may be removed
We reserve the right to remove reviews only in the following cases:
- Offensive, insulting, defamatory or discriminatory content;
- Content that violates the law (hate speech, unlawful content, infringement of third-party rights);
- Third-party personal data (names, addresses, phone numbers) disclosed without consent;
- Spam, advertising content, promotional links or automated reviews;
- Reviews that are clearly false or unrelated to the product (e.g. a comment about a different product);
- Attempts at blackmail or extortion.
When a review is removed, we record the reason internally. The author of the review may contest the decision by contacting us via email at support@singularleather.com.
5. Unsolicited reviews
Exceptionally, reviews submitted spontaneously by customers who did not receive the automatic request may be published. In these cases, before publication, we manually confirm the existence of the order associated with the review. When this verification is not possible, the review may be published without the “Verified” badge.
6. Translated Reviews
The website is available in Portuguese, but we receive reviews from customers in several countries. Reviews are displayed in the original language in which they were submitted. We do not edit or translate review content.
7. Average rating
The average rating shown on each product and on the homepage is calculated automatically by Judge.me based on all published reviews — positive and negative — without any weighting or filtering on our side.
8. Incentives for Reviews
When we occasionally offer incentives (discounts, gifts) to customers in exchange for a review, this is always clearly indicated alongside the review in question, in compliance with Article 8 of Decree-Law 57/2008. The incentive is never conditional on the (positive) content of the review.
9. Requests for Clarification or Complaints
If you believe that a published review is false, unlawful or infringes your rights, please contact us by email at support@singularleather.com. We will review your request within a maximum of 14 days.
